Eugenia angustissima "Vermelha" produces brilliant red (vermelha) fruits very beautiful and an added star next to its black fruit variety.

Eugenia angustissima (Cerejinha de Folhas Finíssimas, Very Fine Leafed Cherry) is a shrub of 1-2 meters, native/restricted toendemic to the Cerrado and Caatinga, in the central part of the country covering Bahia, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Tocantins, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, on rocky soil, usually close to water courses. Cultivated by bonsai enthusiasts. Very narrow and elongated leaves, shiny above and lighter on the back, with a reddish stalk that joins a leaf to a stempetiole.

The taste is very sweet and pleasant.
