Plinia inflata, also known as Mulchi, is a tree native to the western Amazon in Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil. It grows up to 5 meters tall and produces spherical; globe shapedglobose yellow fruits that are 5-8 cm in diameter and 7-10 cm long.
The fruit has a succulent, sweet, and abundant pulp of good flavor, but is not very aromatic. Seedlings can flower anywhere in the 5-15 year range and the tree can produce multiple times per year after several years of production.
It is a heavy producer and seeds are imported directly from Ecuador.
