Chrysophyllum imperiale

The favorite fruit of Emperors Pedro I and Pedro II, it has a subspherical; globe shapedglobose shape, slightly flattened at the ends. Its peel is smooth, yellow-orange and very shiny, and harder than that of an abiu (Pouteria caimito). The pulp is light yellow-orange, almost translucent. The flavor is sweet and pleasant, juicy. The tree is beautiful, with enormous leaves (50-60 cm), with marked veins and serrated edges; the young foliage is silvery-golden (see third image).
