Garcinia leptophylla

Garcinia leptophylla (formerly Rheedia longifolia) is a rare Amazonian fruit tree, sometimes mistaken for Garcinia macrophylla but distinct in its thick, leathery leaves and angular branches.

The tree forms a dense, conical canopy of a treecrown reaching about 3–5 meters in cultivation, though taller in the wild. Its fruits are notable for their hard rind and abundant white pulp, offering a juicy, sweet-tart flavor highly regarded by those who have tried it.

Despite its Amazonian origin, the species shows unexpected tolerance to cooler conditions, likely due to its tough foliage.
