Ambelania acida "Pajil Ruro"

Ambelania acida, commonly referred to as "Pajil Ruro" or "Pepino do mato," is a resilient evergreen shrub or small tree capable of reaching heights of 3-8 meters. Its straight cylindrical the trunk of a treebole can grow to a diameter of 15-20cm, and the plant is known to produce latex throughout its entire structure. This tree is frequently harvested from the wild and utilized for sustenance, medicine, and wood within local communities.

Though it is sometimes grown for its fruit, the Tikuna people in particular hold it in high regard.
