Annona emarginata is a small, drops leaves annuallydeciduous tree with a wide, spreading, dense canopy of a treecrown; usually growing no larger than 3 metres tall. The short the trunk of a treebole can be 15 - 25cm in diameter. The edible fruit is usually gathered from the wild for local use. Native to Coastal, sandy areas of Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, Bolivia and Peru, Forests along watercourses, marshy environments, and along the margins of isolated, dense forest patches, more commonly in secondary formations.
The fruit has a succulent, sweet pulp with a pleasant flavor.
