Annona quinduensis Seeds

Annona quinduensis is a tree species native to Colombia and Ecuador, particularly prevalent in the Andean regions at elevations up to 2,000 meters. The tree features young, wrinkled branches densely covered with soft hairs that become smooth as they mature. Its oblong to lance-shaped leaves measure between 10–22 cm in length and 2–6.6 cm in width, with pointed bases and tips. The upper leaf surface is hairless, while the underside may have small hairs and translucent spots. The plant produces flowers of a plantinflorescences consisting of 1–5 unisexual flowers, each with six petals arranged in two rows. The outer petals are 8–22 mm long and covered in rust-colored silky hairs. The fruit is small, egg-shaped, and brown when ripe, containing creamy white pulp with multiple seeds. It is highly aromatic, with a smooth texture and a flavor that is both sweet and slightly acidic, making it suitable for fresh consumption or in juices and sorbets.
