Antrocaryon amazonicum Seeds
Antrocaryon amazonicum from the Anacardiaceae family (same as mango and cashew). Native to the low Amazon around Belém, it's nicknamed “fruit of cedar” due to its deeply fissured bark, resembling the Cedrela odorata (true cedar). The tree grows massive in the wild but can be kept compact with pruning. Its fruits are aromatic, mildly acidic, and reminiscent of marula and cajá, with a flavor better than cajamirim. Renowned for its culinary value in juices, caipirinhas, or fresh. Despite its quality, the species remains rare in cultivation
If you like Antrocaryon amazonicum, you might also like Artocarpus dadah or Annona vepretorum
