Artocarpus elasticus, commonly known as terap, is a significant rainforest tree native to Southeast Asia, including regions such as Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.  This species can attain impressive heights of up to 45 meters, featuring a straight the trunk of a treebole that may be free of branches for up to 30 meters and a trunk diameter reaching approximately 125 centimeters, often supported by prominent Outgrowth at the base of a tree trunkbuttresses up to 3 meters high.  A distinctive characteristic of A. elasticus is its extraordinspecialized outward growth surrounding a seedarily large leaves on juvenile trees, which can measure over 1 meter in length.  The tree produces spherical; globe shapedglobose, spiny made of multiple carpels - sectionedsyncarp fruits about 12 centimeters in diameter, containing sweet, white fleshy perianths that are edible, though the ripe fruit emits a notably unpleasant odor.  The seeds are also consumable after roasting.
