It can grow up to 25 meters tall and has a dense, irregular canopy of a treecrown. The tree produces small, dense, hairy cymes of flowers on old branches or trunks, with male and female racemes.
The fruit is yellowish-green or reddish and varies in taste and quality. Kapundung is grown for its edible fruit.
