Caryocar edule "Black Pequi" Seeds
Native to Atlantic Forest of Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, andNorth of Espírito Santo. This species is very important for enriching areas undergoing restoration and conservation of the species, which was heavily exploited in the past for its timber. It should be planted in areas with some shade; it does not tolerate areas exposed to full sunlight. Edible pulp must be cooked with a very tasty chestnut flavored seed.
