Eugenia anthropophaga "Pitanga Bananinha"

Beautiful, strongly ribbed, sometimes known as a costacostate bright yellow fruits, reminiscent of pitangatuba (Eugenia selloi), but much more elongated (c. 3 cm long) and with more pronounced ribs. The shape and color of the fruit gave rise to the popular name (pitanga-banana).

Its flavor is bittersweet, very pleasant, and reminiscent of a mixture of passion fruit and pitanga. The plant is a shrub 2-3 m tall. Said to fruit in as little as 3 years.
