Eugenia squamiflora is a fruit-bearing tree native to Santa Catarina, Brazil. It can grow up to 40 ft in height, but is commonly cultivated at 10-12 ft. The fruit is vibrant orange and approximately 4 cm in size, considered to be one of the best-tasting Eugenia varieties.
The leaves are glossy and dark green, about 5 cm in length. The fruit has a juicy, sweet-acidic flavor similar to Eugenia pyriformis. It is said to be cold-hardy down to 32 F.
