Plinia clausa, also known as Anihuayo, Cambuí roxo, or Cambui, is a species of small to medium-sized tree in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae, native to Brazil. It is found in the Atlantic Forest and the Cerrado biomes and is commonly used in reforestation projects.
The fruit of Plinia clausa is edible and is similar in taste and appearance to the Jaboticaba fruit, with a purple-black color and a juicy, sweet pulp. The tree produces fruit in the summer months and is often eaten fresh or used to make jams, jellies, and wines.
The bark of the tree has medicinal properties and is traditionally used to treat diarrhea, fever, and infections. In addition, the wood is used for carpentry and furniture making.
