Plinia sp. "Serra dos Órgãos"

A favorite local jaboticaba of the inhabitants of the Serra dos Órgãos (Organ Mountains) in Southeastern Brazil, where it is found in the Ombrophilous Forest. It’s distinctive by its leaves (narrow, long and acuminate), large very smooth shiny fruits somewhat mottled (see photos) with a very short the stalk bearing a flower or fruitpeduncle (stem). Flavor very nice and sweet, resembling green grapes. Very few collectors have it in Brazil.
