Duguetia lanceolata Seeds
Duguetia lanceolata, also known as Pindaiba, is a tree native to South America, particularly Brazil. It is an evergreen tree that can reach heights of 8 to 18 meters (26 to 60 feet). The tree has a straight trunk with a green and corky bark, and a dense, globe-shaped canopy of a treecrown. The leaves are one main leaf - not compoundsimple and the tree produces a multi-lobed, red-colored fruit that somewhat resembles the sugar apple.
The flesh of the fruit is red-pink colored, and although scarce, it is said to have a full flavor that exceeds that of the sugar apple. The name "Pindaiba" comes from the Tupi-Guarani language.
