Endopleora uchi "Uxi"

Endopleura uchi, also known as Uxi, is a tall evergreen tree with an edible fruit that is popular in its native range.

The fruit is harvested from the wild and cultivated in gardens and orchards. It has a pleasant flavor and aroma, with a thin, oily, aromatic and resinous pulp that contains 1-2 seeds, is about 6 x 4cm, and is often used to make ice cream or eaten with manioc flour. The tree also produces useful timber.
