Myrciaria aff. floribunda "Rusty Rumberry" is a rare and intriguing small shrub native to the ecotonal transition zones between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest in northeastern Minas Gerais, Brazil. Likely a regional variant of Myrciaria floribunda, this species thrives in unique environments and remains largely unknown in cultivation. It produces clusters of dark, nearly black fruits directly on its branches—an eye-catching and ornamental feature. The fruits are sweet with a distinctive flavor reminiscent of a cross between Myrciaria glazioviana (cabeludinha) and jabuticaba, making it a prized choice for collectors of rare and regionally specialized Myrciaria.
