Eugenia burkartiana "Pitanga Acerola" Seeds
Eugenia burkartiana (Pitanga Acerola) is native to the understory forests from São Paulo to Santa Catarina, Brazil. Said to reach 3-10 m in height based on growing region. The fruit are spherical; globe shapedglobose with a reddish color that mature into a bright yellow when ripe.
Fruit matures in October to November in its native habitat and is said to taste similar to sweeter more pleasant acerola. Easy to grow, cold hardy (28 F) and fruit in 3-4 years.
