Eugenia copacabanensis is a small evergreen tree or shrub with a low, dense canopy of a treecrown that can grow up to 7 meters tall.
It produces edible fruits that are not widely appreciated, but sometimes gathered from the wild for local use. The plant is also grown as an ornamental and is threatened with extinction in the wild due to habitat destruction for housing. It is native to moist soils near the Rio de Janeiro coast and produces sweetish-flavored orange fruits up to 4 cm in diameter.
