Eugenia dichroma "Pitanga de Lagarto" Seeds

Native to the coastal restinga forest biome and its most significant occurrence is in the state of Espirito Santo and north of Rio de Janeiro; and may also appear in some areas of northeastern Brazil. Tree with a forked trunk in the forest and when cultivated and in open sandbanks, the trunk is more branched from the base. The plant can form clumps or trees measuring 2 to 5 m or in sandbank forests it can reach up to 15 meters in height. The fruits are oblong (longer than wide) or pyriform, 2 to 3.2 cm long and 1.7 to 2.3 cm wide, with a thin skin surrounding a very tasty, orange-colored liquid pulp, on a membrane attached to a large seed 1 to 1.4 cm long.
