Eugenia disperma

Found in the shaded, semi-dry mountain forests of Rio de Janeiro at altitudes between 600 and 1,000 meters, this small to medium-sized tree with rough bark is a standout for its unique fruit. Its bloody red pulp, rich in anthocyanins, stains fingers with a touch, earning it the name "Blood Mary Eugenia." The fruit is delightfully sweet with just a hint of sourness, making it as delicious as it is visually striking—a true treasure of the mountains!
