Eugenia hirta

Eugenia hirta is a plant species in the Myrtaceae family. It is commonly known as the "cinnamon leaf tree" or "midland hawthorn". The plant is native to Southeast Asia and Eastern Brazil. It primarily grows in the wet tropical biome. Eugenia hirta can grow as a shrub or a tree, producing bright red fruits resembling cherries.

Despite its common names, it's worth noting that it's not directly related to the true cinnamon tree (Cinnamomum verum) or the hawthorn trees (Crataegus species).
