Eugenia klotzschiana "Gigante"

Eugenia klotzschiana is a small, drops leaves annuallydeciduous shrub that reaches up to 1.5 m in height. The plant is native to the Brazilian Cerrado (savannah) region and “Gigante” variant occurs near the Bolivian border.

Fruits of this variant are said to be 10-16 cm in length compared to the 5-8 cm length of the common variant. The pear-shaped fruit has a thin pubescent skin with a thick, juciy, aromatic pulp with pleasant acidity similar to E. stipitata.
