Eugenia multicostata "Araca Piranga" Seeds

Araca piranga is a semi-drops leaves annuallydeciduous tree with a small, rounded canopy of a treecrown; it can grow 10 - 30 meters tall. The cylindrical the trunk of a treebole is usually twisted, 40 - 60cm in diameter. The edible fruit is gathered from the wild for local use. The tree is sometimes grown as an ornamental.

Native to southern and eastern Brazil in humid coastal forests, preferring sand/earth left from rivers or floodingalluvial plains, gentle slopes and forests on deep soils. The thin-skinned fruit has a thick, fleshy, succulent pulp with a very pleasant, acidic flavor. The fruit is around 4 cm long and 3 cm wide.
