Eugenia pluriflora Seeds
Eugenia pluriflora is a rare Myrtaceae species native to the sandy restinga ecosystems of coastal Bahia, Brazil. It grows as a small to medium-sized shrub or tree, well-adapted to the nutrient-poor, coastal soils of its native habitat. Its thick, wider at the base than at the midpoint; tapering toward apex. Length:Width ratio of 2:1ovate leaves help it withstand harsh sun and salt exposure. The plant bears small red to purple fruits, which are typical in flavor for the genus—pleasant and consumed by both wildlife and local communities. Due to habitat loss, E. pluriflora is now increasingly rare and valued among conservationists and collectors.
