Eugenia pyriformis "Uvaia"

Uvaia is an evergreen shrub or tree with a small, open canopy of a treecrown; it can grow 5 - 15 meters tall. The erect the trunk of a treebole can be 30 - 50cm in diameter. Found in open, semi-drops leaves annuallydeciduous forests at moderate elevations and also in open Araucaria forests of Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, southern, central and eastern Brazil.

The fruit has a pleasant aroma with a sweet but insipid flavor. The fruits have a thick, very succulent pulp with a sweet or acid flavor according to variety. The yellow, aromatic fruit varies in shape from spherical; globe shapedglobose to pear-shaped, and in size from 4cm in diameter to 8cm long by 6cm wide.
