Eugenia sp. "Pirula" is a small tree or shrub native to the northern part of Colombia, specifically between the municipalities of Coveñas Sucre and Purísima Córdoba. Reaching a height of about 3 meters, it produces bright yellow, slightly bumpy fruits that turn orange when ripe. The fruits are round, with a diameter of approximately 33 mm, and have a sweet, cherry-like flavor with a slight acidic touch. Due to its compact size, Pirula can be grown in containers for an extended period and remains productive. Once the fruits start to ripen, they need to be harvested daily. The plant’s leaves measure around 3.8 cm by 7.6 cm, adding to its attractive, shrub-like appearance..
