Eugenia speciosa, also known as "Araçá", is a semidrops leaves annuallydeciduous tree that is native to the costal sandbanks and high altitude forests from Minas Gerais to Rio Grande do Sul. It can range from 1 to 20 meters in height depending on the growing region, and is said to flower in October/November in its native habitats.
The fruit is globular with a variety of skin roughness and canopy of a treecrowned with prominent sepals. It has a sweet, fine, fleshy/spongy pulp that matures in December to January.
