Eugenia supraaxilaris "Tatu"

Eugenia suprathe angle between the upper side of a leaf and the supporting stemaxillaris nicknamed fruta-de-tatu (armadillo fruit) or just "tatu" by the first naturalists exploring Rio de Janeiro in 18th Century, is a highly estimated, very rare fruit from Atlantic Rainforest. It is orange, with very thin edible skin, quite juicy and melting in the mouth, with a great sweet-acid balance that reminds apricots in flavor.
