Humiria balsamifera, commonly known as "mirim", is a species of evergreen tree in the Humiriaceae family. It is native to South Tropical America and is primarily found in the wet tropical biome. The tree typically grows between 25 to 36 meters tall and has a heavy, rounded canopy of a treecrown. It is a dominant species in the marsh forests of Guyana and prefers light sandy soils.
In addition to its ecological role, Humiria balsamifera is also used for food. The tree is found in lowland forests of South America, including regions such as The Guianas, Colombia, Venezuela, and the Brazilian Amazon.
