Manilkara triflora

Known in Brazil as “maçaranduba-do-tabuleiro”, it is a native of North and Northeastern Brazil, in restinga (seaside) vegetation. The fruit has a thin reddish to dark red (when fully ripe) skin, enveloping a very sweet milky delicious pulp around a single small dark seed. The plant is a shrub (2-4 m height) and can successfully bear fruits in pots.
