Parmentiera stenocarpa is a species of flowering plant in the Bignoniaceae family, native/restricted toendemic to Colombia. Commonly known as "palo de vela" or "esperma," it is typically found in the departments of Antioquia and Chocó. This tree can reach up to 7 meters in height and is characterized by trifoliate leaves with narrowly winged stalk that joins a leaf to a stempetioles. The flowers are white, and the fruit is a capsule. Parmentiera stenocarpa thrives in humid environments at elevations ranging from 0 to 1,000 meters above sea level. It is often found in areas with waterlogged soils and moderate light conditions.
