Plinia coronata "Coroada de Divinolândia" Jaboticaba was discovered near coffee producers in the municipality of Divinolândia in São Paulo State, Brazil. The municipality is located in the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range in southeast Brazil at altitudes above 1000 meters in altitude. Divinolândia means divine land which is an appropriate name for this cultivar as it also has a beautiful greenish bronze colored cross at the the highest point or vertex of a plant stemapex which resembles the Christian cross. Rare plant collector Frutas Raras collected seeds and scions for grafting from five very old trees. According to reports from residents of the property visited, the trees are over 100 years old, making them centuries-old trees. The large fruits are sweet with a medium size seed and large amounts of juicy pulp. A canopy of a treecrown of 3-6 mm sits in the middle of green cross at the the highest point or vertex of a plant stemapex. The canopy of a treecrown of the tree is dense and round if left to grow.
