Plinia coronata "Val-paraiso" is a distinguished jaboticaba variety from the renowned Otto Andersen collection at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) in Minas Gerais, Brazil. This upright tree features a dense canopy of a treecrown and glossy, narrow oval shape tapering to a pointlanceolate leaves measuring 5–8 cm, with pronounced central veins and faint pinnate lateral veins.
The standout feature of this variety is its large, sub-spherical; globe shapedglobose fruits, which can reach up to 4 cm in diameter. These fruits have thin skins, several medium-sized seeds, and a distinctive canopy of a treecrown at the the highest point or vertex of a plant stemapex measuring up to 1 cm. Known for its abundant production, the tree yields exceptionally sweet pulp with an excellent flavor, making it a prized addition to jaboticaba collections and a delight for fruit enthusiasts.
