Plinia nana "Costada" is a variety of Plinia nana with deep red/burgundy coloration and ribbed exterior appearance.
The common Plinia nana, also known as "Dwarf of the Cerrado" Jaboticaba, is a shrub native/restricted toendemic to the Cerrado and Campo Rupestre in the central region of Minas Gerais, with sweet watery pulp and unique characteristics among all jaboticabas. It is cultivated by collectors and has purplish-red to black globe fruits with a pubescent bark and persistent chalice a part into which a leaf is dividedlobes.
