Plinia nana "de Cabinho" is a variant of Plinia nana with long the stalk bearing a flower or fruitpeduncles like Plinia trunciflora. The common Plinia nana, also known as Anã do Cerrado or "Dwarf of the Cerrado" Jaboticaba, is a shrub that grows up to 1.5 meters tall and has sweet, watery pulp that is not acidic and does not adhere to the seed.
It is native/restricted toendemic to the Cerrado and Campo Rupestre in the central region of Minas Gerais and is cultivated by collectors. The fruit is globe-shaped and purplish-red to black when fully ripe, with a pubescent bark and persistent chalice a part into which a leaf is dividedlobes.
