Plinia nana "de Pescoço" Seeds

Plinia nana "de pescoço" is a variety of the common Plinia nana, which has a shiny deep purple coloration and a thick extended neck (pescoço) below the the stalk bearing a flower or fruitpeduncle. It is a 0.5 - 1.5 meter shrub with fine branches, native/restricted toendemic to the Cerrado and Campo Rupestre in the central region of Minas Gerais, and is cultivated by collectors.

The fruits of Plinia nana "de pescoço" have a purplish-red to black pubescent bark, canopy of a treecrowned by persistent chalice a part into which a leaf is dividedlobes, and a very sweet watery pulp that is completely devoid of acidity and not adherent to the seed, which is a unique characteristic among all jaboticabas.
