Plinia nana "Veludo"

Plinia nana "Veludo" is a variety of the common Plinia nana or dwarf of the Cerrado Jaboticaba, with a beautiful almost black coloration.

It is a shrub with fine branches, native/restricted toendemic to the Cerrado and Campo Rupestre regions in the central area of Minas Gerais. The fruit has a sweet watery pulp, a unique characteristic among all jaboticabas, and is not acidic and does not adhere to the seed. It is cultivated by collectors.
