Plinia 'Sapucaia' presents a gorgeous crimson-red new foliage and deliciously sweet fruits, one of the top varieties from our collection. The new leaves are an intense bright red. The name 'Sapucaia' refers both to the color of the new foliage of Sapucaia nut (Lecythis pisonis), as well as to the origin town of this jaboticaba variety (Sapucaia municipality in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil). The fruits are delicious with extremely sweet pulp flavor and small seeds (sometimes aborted in a few fruits). See fruit diameter in the blue scale 1 cm x 1 cm
