Plinia sp. "Cambucá-roxo"

Plinia sp. "Cambucá-roxo" belongs to a complex of species in Northeastern Brazil that inhabits the States of Sergipe, Alagoas, Paraìba, Pernambuco, and Ceará. Cambucá-roxo is the largest of them all (3.5 cm diameter fruits), skin purple with metallic green hues and velvety surface, very sweet delicious pulp, and relatively small seeds. Other species from the same complex in cultivation are Grimal and Pernambuco. It's a must have for any Plinia collector.
