Plinia spirito-santensis is a semidrops leaves annuallydeciduous shrub or small tree with a dense canopy of a treecrown; it can grow 3 - 6 meters tall. The short the trunk of a treebole branches from low down and can be 25cm in diameter. The fruit is consumed out of hand. The deep reddish-purple fruit is a spherical; globe shapedglobose berry can grow up to 30mm in diameter. The fruits are thoroughly enjoyed. The fruit has a perfect balance of acidic and sweet flavors, making this specie among the best out of Jabotciaba.
