Pouteria sp. "Caimito de monte"

A rare wild species observed in the Colombian Caribbean. Oval fruits turning yellow when ripe. The specialized outward growth surrounding a seedaril that covers the seed is edible with a sweet flavor, quite aromatic. The the middle layer of pericarp, the fleshy part of some fruitmesocarp you can prepare juices in milk. The species is little known, so it has been observed at an altitude of 60 to 50 meters above sea level.
