Pouteria sp. "Abiu Maranhão" is a wild member of the Sapotaceae family, growing in a particular place; nativeindigenous to Maranhão state. This dwarf tree stands at a height of 1 to 2 meters. Its fruits, displaying a rounded shape and yellow hue, carry a flavor reminiscent of the traditional Abiu fruit found within the same Sapotaceae family.
