Pradosia kuhlmannii

Pradosia kuhlmannii is a fantastic tree in Rio de Janeiro primeval forest, there are only 2 cultivated trees (in Rio's Botanical Garden). Skin is yellow and soft on this species (like abiu), pulp also tasting similar to it. The trunk of this species is very ornamental (see mottled pattern in the photo) and produce a bark of sweet flavor (hence the name "casca doce" in Portuguese) which is edible and medicinal. Unlike P. lactescens, it is NOT producing flowers/fruiting from the main stem (trunk)cauliflorous, but fruits in braches (it has been once called Chrysophyllum kuhlmannii).
