Psidium ganevii is an native/restricted toendemic fruit tree found in Bahia, Brazil. It is a shrub or small tree with grayish-brown branches and leathery plaques. The leaves are widest near the middleelliptical, the flowers are one flowersolitary and originating from the axilaxillary, with vinaceous calyceal a part into which a leaf is dividedlobes and white obwider at the base than at the midpoint; tapering toward apex. Length:Width ratio of 2:1ovate petals. The species is rare and primarily found in Chapada Diamantina and Serra do Espinhaço in Bahia.
Psidium ganevii fruits are distinctive, with a glabrous surface and a red-wine color when fully mature. The species has limited distribution and occurs in seasonal forests and cerrado areas.
This variety is found in the Caatinga region of Brazil, a desert and xeric shrubland.
