Sarcaulus brasiliensis

Sarcaulus brasiliensis is a native tree reaching around 12 meters in height, found in Una, Bahia, where it grows in clay-rich soils. It produces sweet fruits with a soft skin, and contains little latex, making it more enjoyable for fresh consumption. As a member of the Sapotaceae family, it stands out for its edibility, manageable latex levels, and adaptability to humid Atlantic Forest conditions, offering strong potential for native fruit cultivation, agroforestry, and regional biodiversity conservation.
