Syzygium polycephalum

Syzygium polycephalum is a small to medium-sized tree, growing 8 - 20 meters tall.

The edible fruits and young shoots are gathered from the wild for local use, whilst the plant is frequently cultivated in home gardens in Java as a fruit-tree. The plant has been recommended as having the potential, with selective breeding, to become a fruit crop. Ripe fruits have a pleasant sour taste. They are used to make a highly esteemed jelly.
